Dr. Eugene Covello, DDS

After graduating from Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois, Dr Eugene Covello opened and ran a very successful practice in Carbondale, Colorado for 38 years. After many cold winters, Dr Covello and his family relocated to Grand Junction, where he assumed care of Dr Don Ross’ patients. When he is not practicing dentistry, Dr Covello also runs a small bass fishing lures company and enjoys spending his time fishing with friends and family. When he is not fishing, Dr Covello enjoys spending time with his wife, children, grandchild and 3 dogs.

Dr. Tayler M. Verheul

Dr. Taylor M. Verheul

Dr. Taylor was born and raised in Montana. Since she left, she has always dreamed of returning to the mountains. While away, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, then went on to study at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. Since receiving her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the U of M, she has been involved in Mission Dental trips to Jamaica and continuing education to stay current on advances in the field. Dr. Taylor is a member of the American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, and Carbondale Chamber of Commerce. When she is not busy, you will find her hitting the slopes or biking the many trails around the area. Dr. Taylor values communication and is dedicated to making sure her patients feel cared for and informed. Her goal is to always have the best office in the valley.

Dr. Matthew Verheul

DR. MATTHEW VERHEUL 

Dr. Matt was born in Minneapolis, MN, but grew up in Sioux Falls, SD. He Graduated from South Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and then went on to the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. While there, he met his wife, Dr. Taylor. After earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery, he and Dr. Taylor returned to Sioux Falls to practice for a couple of years before deciding to move to the mountains of Colorado. Dr. Matt is a member of the American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, Carbondale Chamber of Commerce, and is an associate member of the American Association of Endodontists. Dr. Matt enjoys many of the outdoor activities of the valley, including golf and mountain biking in the warm months, and during the winter, he skis and snowboards.

Favorite part of my job: Patient Education. I truly enjoy seeing positive changes in the oral health of my patients, due to our combined efforts of my educational tips, and their diligence with home care.

Interesting fact about me: I grew up in Indiana, married a Colorado native and have lived in beautiful Colorado for over 11 years.
Hobbies: I enjoy family bike rides, baking with my daughter and restoring old furniture.

How long have you worked at Verheul Family Dentistry: I have been doing hygiene since 1985 and have been working with the Verheul's since 2008.
Interesting fact about me: I grew up in Montana and have practiced in Seattle, Palm Desert and Scottsdale before settling in the Roaring Fork Valley. My husband is the head golf pro at Ironbridge golf course and I have two sons.
Hobbies: Skiing, running, hiking, windsurfing and reading.
